The State Bank of India (SBI), one of the country's premier banking institutions, has announced recruitment for the positions of Financial Literacy Centre (FLC) Counsellors and FLC Directors. Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualifications

Candidates must have retired as officers from SBI, erstwhile Associates (e-ABs) of SBI, or other Public Sector Banks including Regional Rural Banks (RRBs). The applicants should possess adequate work experience and overall professional competence in the banking sector. They should also have a sound understanding of financial products, services, and the importance of financial literacy.

Age Limit

The minimum age for applicants is 60 years, and the maximum age is 63 years as of the date of advertisement. This ensures that candidates have substantial experience while still being actively engaged in the field.

Roles and Responsibilities

FLC Counsellors

  • Conducting financial literacy camps to educate the public about banking products, digital banking, and financial planning.
  • Providing counseling to individuals and groups on financial matters, including debt management and savings plans.
  • Collaborating with local communities, schools, and organizations to promote financial literacy initiatives.
  • Maintaining records of activities and reporting progress to the designated authorities.

FLC Directors

  • Overseeing the operations of multiple FLCs within a designated region.
  • Developing strategies to enhance the reach and effectiveness of financial literacy programs.
  • Training and mentoring FLC Counsellors to ensure consistent and accurate dissemination of information.
  • Coordinating with bank branches and other stakeholders to align financial literacy efforts with organizational goals.

Remuneration

FLC Counsellors ₹30,000 - ₹40,000
FLC Directors ₹40,000 - ₹50,000

In addition to the monthly remuneration, selected candidates may be eligible for reimbursement of expenses related to travel and other activities as per the bank's policies.

Selection Process

The selection process comprises two stages:

  1. Shortlisting: Applications will be reviewed to ensure they meet the eligibility criteria. Candidates with relevant experience and qualifications will be shortlisted for the next stage.
  2. Interview: Shortlisted candidates will be invited for an interview to assess their suitability for the role. The interview panel will evaluate candidates based on their experience, understanding of financial literacy, communication skills, and ability to engage with the community.
